Meet Julie

I hiked the Inca Trail in a pair of Ugg Boots because I didn’t want to pack socks.

I thought that socks would take up too much room in my backpack, they’d get lost and forgotten in hostels, and since Uggs are furry on the inside they’d act as built-in socks anyway. Those boots walked me through nearly every country in South America, including the deepest canyon on the continent in Peru, through art markets in Argentina, a small but meaningful protest in Ecuador, and across borders more permeable than others.

This is how I travel: practical with a huge helping of adventure. Less is always more, striking up a conversation with locals is the quintessential bucket list check and eating through a country’s back roads, street vendors, markets, and family restaurants is the ultimate souvenir.

I’m not always a solo female traveler, in fact, I enjoy hosting small group trips as a Corporate Social Responsibility Manager turned Travel Specialist. I’ve fused my personal interests of travel with responsible and ethical practices to provide my clients with immersive, authentic, and mindful travel experiences. From Todos Santos, Baja Mexico to my home island of Puerto Rico, I create opportunities for adventure and culinary wonders infused with deeply rooted community partnerships to make travel more than just a place, but a mindset.
